Be strong and hug your dog!

The news is in, I fetched it from the vet!  I have been caring for my Sadie Mae for the last week.  She spent a whole day at the vet and she has an enlarged heart so she is now on  heart medication.  She is still a little happy camper and the vet says she will be on it everyday for the rest of her life.  Yesterday she was able to take a walk and go for a car ride to the garden store.  A good start...

In the meantime, I've put my rose colored glasses on and decided to be strong and hug my dogs and look at the happy side of life, Sadie Mae has given me everything she possibly could.
Both of my dogs have taught me so much. They have taught me to slow down and take a happy-go-lucky walk.  They have also taught me how to:
I seem to be in a time of challenge.  We all go through those times.  I also have another sick dog.  My Tazmo is ill...from both ends and won't eat.  I think he has been stressed and worried about Sadie Mae.  Afterall, Sadie Mae is his wife!
Here is a sweet picture of Sadie Mae before her wedding to Tazmo two years ago on Halloween.  Keep calm, be strong and hugging my dogs all day long.

  1. I think I might have mentioned before but.... When you speak of your beloved dogs,You remind Me of My husband Paul.He has a love for our two small dogs like your love for your dogs.So I understand your feelings so well.I truly hope they both do well. Denise

  3. I have been thinking of you all day, dear friend. WE also had a very bad time, years ago, when everything went wrong. My usually positive, happy husband would wake up and wonder what terrible thing would happen today? I don't know why it all happens at once..it seems to be like that for everyone. Now, unfortunately, is your time. But I am praying for you, with all my heart and hoping things will be better and be Okay! And I agree that our dogs, like people, are very aware of stress! Not only is Taz worried about Sadie Mae, but he feels YOUR tension as well. Our fur babies love us and are in tune with our emotions. Please keep on your rose colored glasses and know there are positive thoughts coming from my heart- from Little Rock, AR. and headed your way! Love you so much!!

  4. Oh dear.. I hate when something is wrong with one of my animals.. sooo sad when you know they just dont feel good. I have a stray outside that is a mess.. but I can not afford to take him to the vet. At least you know your puppies are LOVED and well taken care of. I hope they feel better soon.

  5. Precious one, God has given us animals for so many reasons. But one reason, I BELIEVE, is just as you mentioned...to teach us something that no other human can. Each day is another gem in your crown. When the days get bleak, you will still have your crown, studded with the best of times and people, places and pets.....I KNOW IT.

    LOVE TO YOU! Anita
