Fairy Godmother Saturday

Bonk! 4am and the Fairy Godmother decides to wake me up to play! Shuffle to the staircase, step one to three, push the "make coffee" button and back up I climb to find a doll waiting to get started...There she sits waiting one the post at the end of my bed... Too early to get out my childhood phone and call a friend, too late to go back to sleep with the little pillow my mom made but it's early enough to sip coffee and have a mini cinnamon roll with my Barbie plate, all from my childhood. (the Barbie plate was unearthed by one of my chickens at the Fairyland...no kiddin! I always played Barbies in the Fairyland and must have left this one behind!)

BING! The Fairy Godmother suggest spending time playing with my Liddle Kiddle Paperdolls!

Having a Fairy Godmother in your life is wonderful, she is the Queen of my heart!

In two blinks of an eye, crayons appear! Paint brushes dance at the very sound of my Fairy Godmother's slipper prints! (The clown paintbrush holder was hand painted by my own mom and many of the paintbrushes are ones she painted with, I'm so blessed to still have them and I use them!)

In one twirl 3 Magic Kiddle Dolls appear. Whitman knows how to make toys right! Playtime with Skediddle Kiddles can't be beat!

One step into my Happy Room makes my heart burst with joy! To be surrounded with my childhood toys keeps me well balanced and never growing up. I highly recommend it!

I must go off to work this morning and leave my toys behind but perhaps on my day off, I can go find some more toys. I will let my Fairy Godmother be my guide!

Merrily, I must go along now...till we meet again, the challenge is on...I dare ya to go play...all day!

  2. OMGOODNESS....do you believe dearest, that I have THE SAME PHONE AS YOU DO????????????????? I am going to go get it RIGHT now from the basement and just hold it. I am going to hold it, close my eyes and remember...yes, I do remember. Oh dear....LET'S PLAY!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhh....momma....I miss you.

Dear heart, WE HAVE BEEN SO BUSY. Tea Rat had a tear in his eye (he is so emotional, that rat) and he has missed being drawn for Nowhere. Grading and naughty boys in my class have been taking my energy, but teaching requires you to be:

    a mom
    a nurse
    a counselor
    a referree
    a walking dictionary
    an inspiration for imagination
and two years ago, an emergency medical tech ( I had to administer the HEIMLICH MANEOUVER!)

So, needless to say, Tea Rat and RRRRRATUS have taken a back seat as far as new drawings, but Ruben is trying to keep them alive on his blog. I MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH! LOVE YOU Anita

  3. Dear Jackie,
I always love coming here because I get a sense of your childhood that is so cool to read about. One of the things I like about your stories and remembrances is how they reveal the fairyland still in your heart. And that's very, very cool.
    Love, Ruben.
P.S., my favorite "toy" is the bunny cup. Very cute.
